Lalibela's proximity to both Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown makes it an ideal conference venue-with-a-difference.
Theatre style conference room
Our 110-seater conference room boasts state-of-the-art technology, including a hi-definition data projector with 5½m motorised screen for data and multi-media presentations. There are three varying lectern placements. The centre is equipped with translator boxes for international conferences and a high clarity sound system. The large stage is ideal for product launches and there is a ramp so that vehicles can be driven right onto the stage.
Boardroom
Our boardroom-style room, ideal for smaller groups, seats 18 delegates in high-back leather chairs. Projector with drop-down screen.
Adjacent to the conference venue is our 110-seater African-themed Boma Restaurant and it is here that your conference delegates will be provided with nourishment. Tea and coffee with snacks are served in the Boma during the morning and afternoon breaks. Lunch options range from informal finger snacks to light meals, all with an emphasis on the freshest ingredients.
Dinners at the Boma are a complete safari-cuisine extravaganza. The extravaganza dinner offers a buffet meal with exotic African cuisine, including crocodile, warthog, ostrich and even mopane worms. Much emphasis has been placed on the visual experience diners will enjoy and the extravaganza dinner is a theatrical production in itself. A magical aura is created by the presence of prophetic sangomas, traditional storytellers and dancers. Dinner is heralded by the blowing of a kudu horn and diners can take part in group drumming. With twinkling fairy lights, heavy linen table cloths and dramatic silver candelabra, the Boma can be transformed into an ideal setting for seated formal black-tie dinners. The Boma Restaurant also doubles as a break-away venue during conferences. |
