Gonubie is situated on the Gonubie River , Eastern Cape Wild Coast. It is the perfect location to explore the Wild Coast areas. Gonubie Beach does have a Blue Flag status. Activities include , swimming , fishing , dolphin viewing , surfing
The estuary at Gonubie River mouth abounds with marine life and the lagoon is encircled by sheer cliffs that offer prolific birdlife. Whales and dolphins can be seen form the cliffs above the lagoon. The Gonubie River is navigable for 5 km and is a perfect spot for picnics. The Gonubie Nature Reserve is established around a coastal wetland and is home to over 160 species of birds. The Kwelera Nature Reserve is located just north of Gonubie.
