Curry's Post Information

Curry's Post is part of the KwaZulu Natal Midlands meander and is located, North East of the N3. Curry's Post is on the Art and Craft Route and visitors to the Silk Farm in Curry's Post can purchase a variety of exquisite silk garments. Although Currys post is a small place it makes for a great location to base yourself to visit the Midlands Meander.

Curry's Post used to be a staging post on the infamous route between the port of Durban, the Kimberley diamond fields and the Johannesburg gold fields and as such saw a lot of traffic. Not only fortune- hunters and their entourages, but also troops and travellers. Barney Barnato, Cecil John Rhodes, Samuel Clements, Rudyard Kipling and Winston Churchill left their footprints in Curry's Post.

The Midlands Meander is a treasure trove of arts, craft, shops, restaurants and accommodation - a collection of weavers, potters, woodcrafters, leather workers, artists, metalworkers, herb growers, cheese makers and beer brewers - well over 100 stops on four routes that extend over a distance of 80 kilometres between Pietermaritzburg and Mooi River. | Western Cape | Eastern Cape | Northern Cape | Kwazulu-Natal | Free State | Gauteng | Limpopo Province | North West Province | Mpumalanga | Sitemap
