Illovo is a small holiday resort town on the south coast of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. There are good beaches and the resort is ideally placed for the many attractions of KwaZulu Natal. There is plenty of accommodation available and Durban City is only a half an hour away.
Illovo Beach is a small coastal resort on the banks of the Illovo River in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The river was named by the Zulus "iLovo" because of the mlovo trees growing on its banks. Illovo beach falls under the municipal area of Kingsburgh, and it is here that the visitor will find amenities like shopping centers, medical facilities and so on.
Illovo has many residential properties and plenty of accommodation, including a caravan park. Illovo Beach is ideally placed for the many attractions of KwaZulu Natal. For those wishing to see more of the night life of the big city, Durban is only a half hour's drive away on the N2 highway. There is some excellent fishing to be had on the Illovo Beach front, which is also a very popular sun-bathing beach.
