Spioenkop Dam Information

Spioenkop is rich in local history and the mountain was the scene of the famous Battle of Spioenkop where the British suffered one of their worst defeats by the Boers during the Anglo Boer War.
The battlefield site is accessible by road and the panoramic view from the summit is spectacular. Spioenkop Dam is an outstanding venue for water-sports in a scenic game-reserve environment.
