Schoemanskloof is a town located in the escarpment region of the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Schoemanskloof valley is a paradise for nature lovers. Activities include hiking, bird watching, quad biking, horse riding etc. A trip to the Sudwala caves is not to be missed.
At the Montrose Falls in Schoemanskloof, the Crocodile River cascades 12m into a series of rock pools. It is also the starting point of the annual Lowveld Crocodile Canoe Marathon, held in February which brings a flurry of visitors to the area to take part in and support the race. Many of the other activities are those that bring you closer to nature and the reason why most visitors come here: to be at peace and quiet. You can do bird watching, or enjoy the raw nature found on one of the many hiking trips in the area.
