Witsand Information

Witsand is the perfect halfway stop between Cape Town and Knysna, situated at the mouth of the Breede River and is known as THE Whale Nursery of South Africa. A beautiful unspoilt village that so few people know about.

This peaceful coastal town is surrounded by the Breede River estuary and the Indian Ocean. The St Sebastian Bay houses the single largest winter migration population of Southern Right Whales. View them from the coast line at very close proximity or through a local boat based whale watching operator.
